U.K.-Based Business ISP 186k Acquires Mailbox Internet

London -- 186k, a U.K.-based Internet service provider (ISP),
announced that it has acquired local rival Mailbox Internet, one of the
oldest ISPs in the U.K. Financial terms were not disclosed. 186k, which
has acquired ISPs Elite Internet Services and Onyx Internet within the
last year or so, said its decision to buy Mailbox was part of its strategy
to expand through the acquisition of established ISPs. "The acquisition
of Mailbox Internet will provide a key gateway to allow a greater
penetration of 186k's services within the heart of London and Southern
England," said 186k Director Dominic Marrocco. Fulham-based
Mailbox currently provides broadband services to more than 10,000
business users in southern England and the Greater London area.
