Atlanta -- FATS, a U.S.-based provider of training simulation systems,
announced that it has been awarded a £2.2-million contract from the
U.K. Ministry of Defence for additional dismounted close combat
trainers. The systems allow for the training of five to 10 soldiers
simultaneously with single and dual-screen setups and use a variety of
technologies, such as digital video and computer-generated imagery,
that support the training of soldiers in basic to advanced marksmanship,
use of force judgment, shoot/don't shoot decision-making and small-
unit tactical training. FATS said it planned to complete delivery of 20
systems by the end of March 2006.
